Footage shot on a hand held videocam from inside the wheelhouse of the Lerwick lifeboat. The lifeboat was called out to a vessel but then recalled. Footage shows rough seas and extreme conditions.

Eight crew members were transferred to the severn class lifeboat Alec and Christina Dykes 17-28 in extremely severe weather, resulting in the coxswain Mark Criddle being awarded a Silver Medal for Gallantry, and his deck crew Thanks of the Institute on Vellum.
