This is my first flyback experiments. The video shows the first arc I made from a flyback transformer, my 'prototype', then it built into a box, and me frying anything I can find! The flyback is from an old black and white portable television. Im hoping to find a better flyback soon, and build a better driver circit. Enjoy!

A "black box" high voltage flyback driver. 12 volts in, 20,000 out. Runs on a 5AH sealed lead acid battery.
I found the (very simple) schematic at Sam Barros' Powerlabs: www.powerlabs.org

Here is the simple and familiar flyback driver that uses a 555 IC to trigger a MOSFET which drives a flyback transformer. The board in the video is using an IRF730 MOSFET, but I plan to replace it with an IRF540 soon.

This is second test of ZVS fly-back driver on 40kV fly-back. Comming with small english description /with my bad english :D/. See entire video for nice arcs,

This is my recently build ZVS flyback driver. I'm running it at only 150 watts because the flyback can't take very much power, at higher power it will become very warm in seconds. The driver itself works great, the components stay cool, even when driven at higher powers.

Second video about my audio modulated flyback transformer (any improvement in sound quality? yes!). Duty cycle and frequency are adjustable, and I turn these potentiometers near end of clip. Output voltage can be even 30kV.

I finally got my IGBT flyback driver working reliably, and tested it on a Jacob's ladder. Notes on my setup: IGBT halfbridge, two AC flybacks in series, total arclength up to 20cm (8"), input ca. 1KVA max
